Eren Reburiano: Speak or Stay Silent?

teaser 2

This acrylic piece was made with the intention of showing the current world crisis we live in. The young boy in the centre being the focus of the painting with many political issues surrounding the child, represents a reflection of youth right now living in a crucial time where they are the next generation to speak up and fight for what they believe in. The artist's want people to look at the artwork and not only feel sympathy for the boy but for the world and the people who are affected by it.

Eren Reburiano, a student from Taieri College, wants viewers of this artwork to take a step back and to think to themselves if it is better to "Speak up or Stay silent" and especially to the young people of New Zealand, who will soon be making choices for the next leader of the country, to maybe be more political especially in this political climate where people need to unite together to stand for human rights.
