She used to be one of the most recognizable painted faces in Aotearoa's drag scene. Monty Montgomery: Tāmaki Makaurau's Technicolour Queen of the Microphone. Then she vanished.


Where do you hide a personality (and a wig) that big? In Lawrence, Otago.


From sticky nightclub floors to greener pastures. This is Monty's upside-down story of switching rhinestoned high heels for gumboots, fleeing from the chaos of the city and accidentally finding yourself while looking for life’s meaning - with some hilarious speed bumps along the way.
